Typing centres in the UAE

A typing centre is a private business that fills in and submits government applications for you: visas, Emirates ID, medical tests and labour transactions. Some are authorised by the government as Amer (GDRFA, Dubai) or Tasheel (MOHRE) centres. You pay the official government fee plus the centre’s service charge, which has no single official tariff.

Typing fees

There is no official tariff for private typing charges. The government fees are fixed by each authority (see residence visa, Emirates ID and medical test), and the centre adds its own service charge. EHS, for example, says a centre printing fee is added without publishing the amount. Ask for a receipt that separates government fees from service charges.

There is one published limit: for some MOHRE services, such as the work permit transfer package (offer letter, contract and permit application printing) and updating a domestic worker’s work permit, MOHRE caps the business centre’s charge at AED 72 per service. MOHRE does not extend that cap to every transaction, and GDRFA and ICP do not publish one for Amer or ICP typing.

What to bring

Doing it yourself online

Most services can be done without a typing centre: GDRFA Dubai app for Dubai visas, ICP app for Emirates ID and residency in the other emirates, and the MOHRE app for work permits. Centres are useful if you need help with the forms or payments.
