Family, retiree and property-owner categories may add a refundable guarantee (AED 3,000 per family member of an investor, capped at AED 15,000). Golden, green and blue residences have their own 5- or 10-year fees of AED 100 per year plus the application and smart fees.

Family-sponsored renewals usually ask for passport, photo, lease agreement, utility bill, proof of kinship, salary certificate and valid health insurance.
Cancelling a residence permit

Cancelling the sponsor’s residence while family members stay can require a AED 5,000 guarantee. You need the passport; investors also need the licence cancellation certificate.
